The word schedule had almost nothing to do with Jacque. If it wasn't for the plan to go to see Shoju, a dolphin acting alone, I don't know if their trip would have come true. It was in 1992. The two weeks on Keikos Island were the most memorable time I spent with Jack.

In the first place, from the 1950s encounter with a dolphin named Crown, which can be said to be the beginning of the story between Jacques Mayor and the dolphin, and later appeared in the movie "Grand Blue", the "Dolphin Man" named by Homodelfinus and himself Now, I can only vaguely think about what the time until I came to the idea of "betw" was like for Jack Mayol. It goes without saying that the encounter with the dolphin, who told me that there was everything there, shifted the pace of his life into the sea after that.

By the time I met Jack again on Keikos Island, I had met him several times in Japan. The first time I met him, he was interviewed by a magazine and the place was Tomido in Izu. I was just fishing for dolphins, and while watching it, Jack said, "Even if you are driven by a fisherman, it's nothing to jump over the height of the net. It's just like Gandhi that the dolphins don't do that and are caught by the fishermen's nets," he said to me with a serious face. Just by hearing that, this person is not just a thing...
So as far as I'm concerned, I just need to be able to take a picture of Jack on Keikos Island.
Caycos Island, which floats in the Caribbean, is a place full of islands. One morning, Jack suddenly canceled his plans for the day and said that he wanted to go camping on another island. It's fimsillous. So on the island I went out, let's make a bed first when we arrive. It was a small island with nothing, so I collected driftwood and something. We Japanese took a tent, but the young people on the island who took them with us were making beds with the materials they picked up as they liked. When I thought it was ready, I had those young people pick a huge amount of Ise shrimp, dismantle it on the beach, boil it in a large pot, and everyone drank rum around the bonfire and had a party. Jack was a good talker and told me old stories one after another. Young people get entangled with Jack when they get drunk... When the banquet was going to be a bamboo shoot, I suddenly realized that Jack was alone and quickly fell asleep with the sleeping taste he had made earlier. Because they knew everything about the beach, everything went on as if it were a matter of course.
I'm sure he enjoyed our reaction from Japan.
In this way, once Jack went ashore, he was mischievously and fun, and he was a fashionable person who did not pay attention to delicious food like a European, and he looked completely different from him before diving into the sea. Before diving, Jack repeated shallow and deep breathing because there was a place where he couldn't get close to people anymore, and then this time he let water through his nose ... Be sure to do yoga for about an hour to prepare, and suddenly whip He was a well-prepared person who would not do anything messy. The preparation before diving was really concentrated in the second half, and the atmosphere was completely different.

Jack thought that there were human roots in the BLUE HOLE at the bottom of the sea, and there was a mystery that had not yet been revealed. Mysterious things often cannot be solved by human power, but I think Jack wanted to use his own body to demonstrate that humans lived in the sea while making things impossible normally possible.

It was on the last day of the trip that I met the dolphin Jojo, which was my first purpose, on the tortuous island of Keikos. Jack and Jojo were able to take a good picture side by side. But every time I see it, I feel somewhat sad. I don't know what to say, I'm really happy because I found it, but Jack in the picture there is also a lonely person, and Jojo is also a lonely dolphin, and I can't help but feel like it's nice to meet you in this ocean.
